How to apply for a place in Reception September 2026

Applications for Reception places (the normal admissions round) must be made through Peterborough City Council by the national closing date of 15th January. Paston Ridings Primary School is a Peterborough City Council maintained school. Peterborough City Council is the admissions authority and is responsible for determining and administering admission arrangements. 

 

Published Admission Number (PAN)

The school has two classes in each year group from Reception to Year 6, with a Published Admission Number (PAN) of 60 pupils per year. Please contact us directly on (01733) 762742 to find out if there are spaces available.

 

​In-year admissions

In-year applications (for pupils who are already in school and wish to move, or who are moving into the area) are also coordinated by Peterborough City Council. Please follow this link

 

Oversubscription Criteria

Where there are more applications than places available, Peterborough City Council's published oversubscription criteria will be applied in accordance with the School Admissions Code: 

 

Admission appeals

Parents have the right to appeal if a place is not offered. Appeals are administered by Peterborough City Council, and the timetable and guidance are published on the council's website.
