What a half term it has been! The children have settled really well and they are adapting to the demand of the year 4 curriculum.
In English we have been exploring the features of an explanation text to enable us to write our own all about Viking longships. To support this we have been travelling back in time to 793 AD in History to explore the Lindesfarne raids.
As musicians we have been learning about three different types of notes - minims, quavers and crotchets. We cleverly used these to compose our own beat to a song.
To keep us safe we have been delving into the importance of being responsible online in computing and respecting boundaries as well as learning about equality in PSHE. A highlight of the half term was taking part in the difference project which was a pilot scheme run through the Ely Diocese which enabled us to focus on how we define beauty.
I am very proud to announce that we have read nearly a million words as a class and we are steadily improving our times table knowledge in preparation for the MTC's in the summer - please keep supporting this at home!
