Magic Breakfast is coming to Paston!
Our school has signed up to receive free healthy breakfast food as part of the Covid response offer, under the National School Breakfast Programme (NSBP), which is being delivered by the charities Family Action and Magic Breakfast.
As part of this government funded programme, schools can choose to offer children a healthy breakfast at school or at home.
From Monday we plan to offer all children a bagel portion on their arrival to school. The bagels will be eaten in classrooms at the start of the school day; they will be toasted and buttered. KS1 and Foundation stage children will have a quarter of a bagel each and KS2 children will have half. These will be available for all children.
Potential allergens and dietary requirements have been considered. However, if your child has an allergy to sesame, please contact school and make us aware. The spread we use to butter the bagels is suitable for children with lactose intolerance and we have ensured it is vegetarian.
Families who are isolating at home due to COVID 19 will also receive breakfast packs. These may be bagels or packs of cereal.
The benefits of a healthy breakfast include children being settled and ready to learn and we hope that it will give our children a great start to their day.
